DALLAS AREA NEIGHBORHOODS
ADDISON
Addison is a bustling town that is alive with entrepreneurial spirit. The rapidly growing suburban community of Allen, Texas occupies an area of 26.3 square miles north of Dallas. Allen is linked to Dallas by US 75, giving commuters fast, convenient access to the city. CARROLLTON

DALLAS
Dallas, Texas, Dallas County, DFW, Big D. The city is known by many names. The actual city or Dallas County covers 385 square miles. The DFW was developed to combine Dallas and Fort Worth Texas and all cities into one metropolitan area. The main link to the two cities is a shared airport, DFW International Airport. We share many other amenities such as the Dallas Cowboys football team, Texas Rangers baseball, Dallas Mavericks basketball, Dallas Stars hockey, Six Flags Over Texas amusement park, Fair Park, Verizon Theater, American Airlines Center, just to name a few. While we are a big geographical city, we have a small town feel in our neighborhoods. The arts district is the crowning jewel to the downtown district. Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, Crow Collection of Asian Art, Mort Meyerson Symphony Center, Winspear Opera House and the Wyly Theater for the Performing Arts, all attracts hundreds of thousands of arts patrons to this area.
DOWNTOWN | UPTOWN
Downtown, Uptown, State Thomas, Oak Lawn and Knox Park affords its residence a vibrant inner city lifestyle. Housing ranges from high rise condos with breathtaking views of Turtle Creek. The close proximity to the Downtown Business District, Baylor Hospital and Southwest Medical Center adds to the appeal. Walk to many trendy restaurant, night life and shopping. The meandering Turtle Creek runs a lazy path through the neighborhoods creating a lush tree shaded grounds to relax and enjoy outdoor life. The Katy Trail, allows residence to also enjoy an active life style. Vickery Plaza, adjacent to the AA Center, has a time square feel filled with trendy eateries. West End gives visitors a taste of Dallas with long standing restaurants. Renovated buildings have become a loft living allowing Dallas to keep a sense of history. State Thomas contains a mixture of Victorian homes and newer condo/townhome communities adjacent to Uptown and the shadow of the trendy ZaZa Hotel, Crescent Court Hotel, Ritz Carlton Hotel and Condo. This area is one of Dallas’ most vibrant and dynamic areas and one not to miss even if it is just to enjoy the amenities.
EAST DALLAS
This area has always been a special gem in the Dallas landscape. This area has the largest number of historic homes. Munger Place, Swiss Avenue, M Streets, Greenland Hills, Vickery Place, Santa Monica, Hollywood Heights, Lakewood, Gastonwood, Junius Heights to name a few. White Rock Lake is a recreational lake only located in the heart of Dallas. White Rock Lake is home to natural habitat including a colony of wild parrots on the south west shore. While there visit the Dallas Arboretum, The Boat House, The Cultural Center, Winfrey Point and the first area Dog Park. There is a 10 mile bike and jogging trail around the lake. Shopping in this area offers both unique intimate shopping experience to larger shopping center complete with grocery store to hardware and cleaners.
FLOWER MOUND
As you might suspect, Flower Mound gets its name from a large 12.5 acre mound of wildflowers that rises 50 feet above the surrounding countryside and contains more than 175 identified species of wild flowers. Conveniently located near the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Flower Mound has an easy going suburban feel with manicured lawns and residential neighborhoods full of families and busy professionals. Flower Mound’s Town Council has carefully managed the town’s services and has created numerous recreational facilities and parks that residents enjoy through a series of hiking and biking trails that link the various open spaces surrounding the town. The district is primarily served by the Lewisville Independent School District. Both the Argyle Independent School District and Northwest Independent School District serve the children of certain Flower Mound.
FRISCO
Frisco has been and continues to be one of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Most of Frisco is a part of the Frisco Independent School District. Some parts extend into Lewisville Independent School District, Little Elm Independent School District, and Prosper Independent School District. Recreation plays a big part in Frisco both spectator and participation, Frisco Athletic Center. The Texas League AA minor league baseball team Frisco Rough Riders play at the Dr Pepper Ballpark. The Dallas Stars National Hockey League is headquartered in Frisco. FC Dallas, a Major League Soccer plays out of the Toyota Center. A major international youth soccer tournament, The Dallas Cup, is hosted in Frisco each year and draws teams from around the world. Frisco is also home of the Superdrome, one of the top outdoor velodromes in the nation.
GARLAND
Garland is a suburb 15 miles northeast of Dallas. Garland is within a short drive away from most major Metroplex attractions. Comfortable, hometown feel in the midst of a thriving metropolitan area. Residents and visitors enjoy entertainment and recreational venues, including the Granville Arts Center, the Nicholson Memorial Library System, and the city’s award-winning Parks and Recreation Department. Garland also features the Garland Special Events Center, an arena and conference center with a ballroom, and Firewheel Town Center, an outdoor mall with more than 100 businesses. In the summer months, residents and visitors cool off at Hawaiian Falls waterpark.
GRAND PRAIRIE
Life is truly grand in Grand Prairie today. Grand Prairie is centrally located in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, minutes from major attractions and amenities. Grand Prairie offers residents and visitors a variety of entertainment venues, including Lone Star Park, home of world class horse racing and the GPX Skate Park, Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie. The city recently opened its new premier outdoor event area, the Gardens at the Ruthe Jackson Center, a beautiful garden venue for weddings and other outdoor social events. Grand Prairie is home to the minor league baseball team, Air Hogs and their new stadium, Quiktrip Park. Grand Prairie’s Tangle Ridge Golf Course is one of Texas’ top ranked courses and Prairie Lakes Golf Course. Joe Pool Lake offers camping, cabins, fishing, picnicking, swimming and water skiing.
GRAPEVINE
Give customers a reason to do business with you. Grapevine is a suburb of Fort Worth adjacent to Grapevine Lake and the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The town took its name from Grape Vine Springs, named for the wild Mustang grapes native to the area. The city is now home to numerous wineries and the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association, as well as GrapeFest. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The railroad hosts special events like the Great Train Robberies, Day Out with Thomas and North Pole Express. Grapevine draws visitors from around the U.S. with attractions like Grapevine Mills Mall, Great Wolf Lodge, and Gaylord Texan, overlooking beautiful Lake Grapevine. Grapevine, with its easy access to the many amenities of the Metroplex and its historic, hometown personality, offers its residents an ideal lifestyle.
HEATH
Heath borders Lake Ray Hubbard making this a sought after area for housing. While Heath is an older established city there is so much growth going on here. From major hospital complexes such as Presbyterian Hospital to new schools and new subdivisions. One of the best known areas in Heath is Buffalo Creek. It is highly sought after golf course community that is well planned around parks and green space. There is convenient shopping close by and many residents take advantage of the Harbor shopping center. Heath is only 25 minutes to downtown Dallas and minutes from Garland. Whether you like golf, boating, fishing, various outdoor activities, shopping or just relaxing in your own home, you will find Heath is a great place to live.
HIGHLAND PARK
Highland Park is a town in central Dallas County. Located between the Dallas North Tollway and 75. Highland Park and University Park together comprise the Park Cities. Highland Park Village, the first shopping center of its kind in the United States. It is still a crown jewel for the area. Highland Park has maintained strict zoning ordinances. Known for its quality housing, the town still has many parks running along Turtle Creek and is home to the Dallas Country Club. While Highland Park has its’ own government, police and fire department, it shares Highland Park Independent School District with the adjoining city of University Park. This school district has been award winning and highly recognized throughout the United States for many years.
IRVING
Irving contains the Las Colinas area, which was one of the first master-planned developments in the United States. DFW International Airport is located within the Irving city limits. Las Colinas includes the Mustangs at Las Colinas, which is the largest equestrian sculpture in the world. A 40-acre tract in Las Colinas is the site of the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. Part of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which serves the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, is inside the city limits of Irving. Most of Irving is served by the Irving Independent School District. Other portions are served by the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District and Coppell Independent School District.
LEWISVILLE
Lewisville offers a small-town atmosphere within an urban city. It is located just minutes from Dallas and Fort Worth as well as DFW International Airport. Old Town Lewisville offers old-town charm with antique shops, specialty stores and restaurants.
When you factor in world-class shopping, fine dining and attractions, new luxurious hotels, the glittering blue lakes of Lake Lewisville, and easy airport access, and it's no wonder people find Lewisville a great place to live. Most of the city is served by the Lewisville Independent School District. Portions are served by the Coppell Independent School District.
MCKINNEY
McKinney is located 30 miles north of Dallas. Despite the rate of growth in McKinney, it still maintains a small town charm. Mckinney National Airport is also located in McKinney as well as the Central Campus of Collin College. But the jewel of McKinney is The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary. There are always many things to do, see and experience at the Heard. The sanctuary, nature trails, native plant garden, education department, exhibits and collections, nature store and rental facilities provide visitors with an array of services and activities. McKinney has a highly recognized school district McKinney is served primarily by the McKinney Independent School District, but some western areas of McKinney are zoned to nearby Frisco Independent School District and southern areas to Allen Independent School District.
OAK CLIFF
Oak Cliff is as diverse an area as Dallas itself. Oak Cliff has turn-of-the-century and mid-20th century housing, many parks. Its’ close proximity to the central business district of downtown Dallas makes it a great place for Dallas workers to live. Bishop Arts District is a wonderful area to spend weekend days with numerous restaurants and art filled shops. You do not want to miss the view of downtown Dallas from the outdoor terrace of the historic Belmont Hotel. You cannot mention Oak Cliff with out talking about the neighborhoods of Kessler Park and Stevens Park. The renown Stevens Golf Course splits these two areas. Beautiful Cliff Park is the gateway to the area. Methodist Hospital and the Dallas Zoo are also found here.
PLANO
There are so many great things about Plano that it’s hard to know where to start. Plano is a mature community of pristine neighborhoods and clean streets. Abundant shopping, restaurants, and entertainment keeps the city lively, and the city’s parks and recreation facilities help ensure there is always something to do. The annual Plano Balloon Festival is a highlight for the community and the region each year. Nearby employment is abundant at the hundreds of corporate headquarters and high tech firms that line the Richardson Technology and North Dallas Corridors. Plano also has a historic downtown area. Downtown Plano features Art Galleries, Performance Art Theaters, and the Interurban Railway Museum. The Plano Independent School District is one of the best in the metro area. There are more than 50 colleges within a 30 mile radius of Plano to include Collin County Community College.
RICHARDSON
Home of the telecom corridor and many successful start-ups, Richardson enjoys fabulous suburban amenities with easy city access and great schools. Richardson TX is located north of Dallas and south of Plano TX. The Dart Rail Line, running adjacent to this area helped fuel its popularity. Housing ranges from older, smaller starter homes to large, stately newer construction. Richardson has some of the easiest access to many major highways (I75, I635 and 190), making it a good choice for commuting workers.
ROCKWALL
What's something exciting your business offers? Say it here. Rockwall is located due east from downtown Dallas of Highway 30. Many people make this commute because of the lifestyle found here. Surrounded by Lake Ray Hubbard, this city is known for its relaxed lifestyle and outdoor living. This combined with its award winning schools makes it a great place to live. Ample shopping can be found in and around Rockwall including the new Harbor shopping center. Live music can be heard here every Thursday night starting in the Spring. The Bass Pro Shop is located on the shore of the lake. Housing varies from large planned subdivisions to unique homes dotting the lake. Crossing the lake to go to and from your home every day is a welcome sight. There is a Farmers Market every weekend in the town square. Rockwall is its on city within Dallas. It has its own government and school district.
ROWLETT
Rowlett provides multiple outlets for outdoor activities. Close to Lake Ray Hubbard, Rowlett offers sailing, skiing, boating, fishing, hiking and biking trails, parasailing, and miles of grassy scenic picnic areas. The city is located east of Dallas and is bordered by Garland and Mesquite. Rowlett is surrounded by Lake Ray Hubbard making this a wonderful asset and desirable place to live. Housing is as varied as the city mostly built in planned subdivisions. The best known is Waterview, a large community with its’ own pool, clubhouse and golf course. The Dallas County portion of Rowlett is served by the Garland Independent School District, while the Rockwall County portion is a part of the Rockwall Independent School District.
SACHSE
Sachse is coming of age and casting a shadow on the eastern horizon that cannot be ignored by residents and visitors alike. Although still considered “rural” by community standards, Sachse is growing rapidly. The Highway 78 area of the city is a hotbed of upstart residential, retail and commercial businesses and is ripe with investment and job opportunities. Students living in the city of Sachse are offered a rich and diverse education through two different school districts, both serving the community with high standards of education. Dallas County residents of Sachse are serviced by Garland Schools. Collin County residents of Sachse are serviced by the Wylie school district. Sachse boasts an array of housing opportunities. Residents of Sachse who are still in the job market will find the area home to some of the country’s largest and most stable companies.
SOUTHLAKE
Southlake is an affluent community, well known for its Southlake Town Square project, a shopping center filled with great stores and dining choices. Southlake is a city in northeastern Tarrant and southern Denton Counties. It is a suburb of Fort Worth and is located near the cities of Grapevine, Colleyville, and Keller. The Southlake Independent School District is highly regarded. Most of Southlake is in the award winning Carroll Independent School District a small portions of the city extend into the Northwest Independent School District and Keller Independent School District. Outdoor space is so important to Southlake. Bicentennial Park is the city's second largest park with 74 acres.
UNIVERSITY PARK
University Park is the home of Southern Methodist University and is also known for its attractive homes, beautiful parks, and numerous churches. The location of University Park in north-central Dallas provides easy access to a broad range of cultural, recreational, shopping, and business activities. The City is served by the Highland Park Independent School District. The city is surrounded by Dallas on three sides and the Town of Highland Park to the south. The city’s unique character, high property values, and low tax rate have been steadily maintained.
