Grapevine is a suburb of Fort Worth adjacent to Grapevine Lake and the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The town took its name from Grape Vine Springs, named for the wild Mustang grapes native to the area. The city is now home to numerous wineries and the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association, as well as GrapeFest. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. Highland Park is a town in central Dallas County. Located between the Dallas North Tollway and 75. Highland Park and University Park together comprise the Park Cities. Irving contains the Las Colinas area, which was one of the first master-planned developments in the United States. DFW International Airport is located within the Irving city limits. Las Colinas includes the Mustangs at Las Colinas, which is the largest equestrian sculpture in the world. A 40-acre tract in Las Colinas is the site of the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. Part of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which serves the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, is inside the city limits of Irving. Lake Highlands is a special neighborhood bordered by White Rock Lake and Flag Pole Hill. Located in the Northeast quadrant of Dallas. Lake Highlands is the only neighborhood south of 635 that is in the Richardson School District. Due to the much sought after school district, Lake Highlands is a wonderful family oriented area. One of the largest parks can be found here. Flag Pole Hill, home to various long distance races and a yearly outdoor concert preformed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The White Rock bike and hike trail also runs through this area. Lake Highlands is a wonderful combination of older 1950’s to 1980’s homes and newer construction dotting the landscape. Lewisville offers a small-town atmosphere within an urban city. It is located just minutes from Dallas and Fort Worth as well as DFW International Airport. Old Town Lewisville offers old-town charm with antique shops, specialty stores and restaurants.

McKinney is located 30 miles north of Dallas. Despite the rate of growth in McKinney, it still maintains a small town charm. Mckinney National Airport is also located in McKinney as well as the Central Campus of Collin College. But the jewel of McKinney is The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary. There are always many things to do, see and experience at the Heard. The sanctuary, nature trails, native plant garden, education department, exhibits and collections, nature store and rental facilities provide visitors with an array of services and activities. McKinney has a highly recognized school district McKinney is served primarily by the McKinney Independent School District, but some western areas of McKinney are zoned to nearby Frisco Independent School District and southern areas to Allen Independent School District.
Oak Cliff is as diverse an area as Dallas itself. Oak Cliff has turn-of-the-century and mid-20th century housing, many parks. Its’ close proximity to the central business district of downtown Dallas makes it a great place for Dallas workers to live. Bishop Arts District is a wonderful area to spend weekend days with numerous restaurants and art filled shops. You do not want to miss the view of downtown Dallas from the outdoor terrace of the historic Belmont Hotel. You cannot mention Oak Cliff with out talking about the neighborhoods of Kessler Park and Stevens Park. The renown Stevens Golf Course splits these two areas. There are so many great things about Plano that it’s hard to know where to start. Plano is a mature community of pristine neighborhoods and clean streets. Abundant shopping, restaurants, and entertainment keeps the city lively, and the city’s parks and recreation facilities help ensure there is always something to do. The annual Plano Balloon Festival is a highlight for the community and the region each year. Nearby employment is abundant at the hundreds of corporate headquarters and high tech firms that line the Richardson Technology and North Dallas Corridors. Plano also has a historic downtown area. Home of the telecom corridor and many successful start-ups, Richardson enjoys fabulous suburban amenities with easy city access and great schools. Richardson TX is located north of Dallas and south of Plano TX. The Dart Rail Line, running adjacent to this area helped fuel its popularity. Richardson has some of the easiest access to many major highways (I75, I635 and 190), making it a good choice for commuting workers.

The city is located east of Dallas and is bordered by Garland and Mesquite. Rowlett is surrounded by Lake Ray Hubbard making this a wonderful asset and desirable place to live. Housing is as varied as the city mostly built in planned subdivisions. The best known is Waterview, a large community with its’ own pool, clubhouse and golf course. The Dallas County portion of Rowlett is served by the Garland Independent School District, while the Rockwall County portion is a part of the Rockwall Independent School District.
Rockwall is located due east from downtown Dallas of Highway 30. Many people make this commute because of the lifestyle found here. Surrounded by Lake Ray Hubbard, this city is known for its relaxed lifestyle and outdoor living. This combined with its award winning schools makes it a great place to live. Ample shopping can be found in and around Rockwall including the new Harbor shopping center. Live music can be heard here every Thursday night starting in the Spring. The Bass Pro Shop is located on the shore of the lake. Housing varies from large planned subdivisions to unique homes dotting the lake. Crossing the lake to go to and from your home every day is a welcome sight. There is a Farmers Market every weekend in the town square. Rockwall is its on city within Dallas. It has its own government and school district.

Although still considered “rural” by community standards, Sachse is growing rapidly.
