The surface area of the lake is 416 acres, and it is currently used primarily for recreation and flood control.

 Caddo Lake (Lac Caddo in French) is a different type oflake than most of the Texas Lakes to the west. Caddo Lake is on the Texas/Louisiana border. Caddo lakecovers 225,400 acres of Cypress swamp and has an average depth of 8' 10" with the deepest water averaging about 20 feet.

 Lake Marble Falls is a reservoir on the Colorado River in the Texas Hill Country in the United States. The reservoir was formed in 1951 by the construction of Max Starcke Dam by the Lower Colorado River Authority.   

Northwest of Austin

 Lake Cypress Springs is a 3,461-acre reservoir located in Northeast Texas, approximately 90 miles east of Dallas, Texas. The lake is used for recreational, municipal, and industrial purposes. The lake is regularly monitored by a lake patrol, which enforces wake zones, fishing licenses, boat dock rules, and boating.
