Downtown Dallas is the Central Business District in Dallas, Texas USA, located in the geographic center of the city. 

The area termed "Downtown" has traditionally been defined as bounded by the downtown freeway loop: bounded on the east by I-345. 

Dallas, Texas, Dallas County, DFW, Big D. The city is known by many names. The actual city or Dallas County covers 385 square miles. The DFW was developed to combine Dallas and Fort Worth Texas and all cities into one metropolitan area. The main link to the two cities is a shared airport, DFW International Airport. 

We share many other amenities such as the Dallas Cowboys football team, Texas Rangers baseball, Dallas Mavericks basketball, Dallas Stars hockey, Six Flags Over Texas amusement park, Fair Park, Verizon Theater, American Airlines Center, just to name a few. 

While we are a big geographical city, we have a small town feel in our neighborhoods.  The arts district is the crowning jewel to the downtown district. Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center, Crow Collection of Asian Art, Mort Meyerson Symphony Center, Winspear Opera House and the Wyly Theater for the Performing Arts, all attracts hundreds of thousands of arts patrons to this area.
